I have been SO excited about Home Grown by Deb Strain for Moda! It’s a beautiful “modern Farmhouse” sort of look. The day it arrived, I made these shopping/tote bags out of the cotton and the linen. The bags were super easy to make, and no, I didn’t use a pattern. I’ve probably made a hundred bags in my life so far, and usually I can envision the finished product… happy to say that these came out perfect! In one, I added a very light-weight fusible interfacing, and to the other I added the fusible fleece that I love. For the handles I used a generic 1″ black belting. I lined my bags because I personally feel like it makes for a better looking bag, and also it makes the bag stronger. I like to use my bags!
I think this fabric will literally go in any room of the house, if you’re a Farmhouse kind of person. The pattern, by Coach House Designs, is a perfect way to use the panel.
