About Montana Quilting Company

The concept of Montana Quilting Company came after I experienced a life changing motorcycle accident. Like my Grandmother and mother, I caught the sewing bug at a very young age and with their help, became quite adept in the art of sewing. Neither of them quilted, but they loved to make clothing and stuffed animals and other assorted pretty things. After the accident, I was unable to stand for a couple of years because of surgeries and recovery times. I took my first quilting class about a year into my recovery and as the saying goes, I was hooked! I love to quilt, machine embroider and make clothes and my goal is to share this love with anyone interested.

We are lucky enough to live in the beautiful Flathead Valley of Northwest Montana and I must say that we truly have world class quilters up here that I’ve been lucky enough to learn from. We have a fantastic group of ladies that meet every Thursday to sew and there’s always something new and inspiring. We have made some really gorgeous heirloom quilts, and I believe that everyone needs a good challenge from time to time; but sometimes you just need something really beautiful that is really easy! In come the PRE-CUTS! I have made some really cool quilts that look difficult, but are in fact, so easy! With pre-cuts there is very little time spent in picking out fabrics and choosing what goes where. Pre-cuts come in whatever size you pick and almost always have 42 pieces of a single line of fabric… pair that with a couple of yards of companion fabric and you’re in business!

In creating Montana Quilting Company, my goal is not a financial one. I want to share good quality fabrics at reasonable prices. My shipping is free in the continental U.S., and I’ll always have tips for how I’ve put together any of the kits. I’m available by email anytime you have a question or want to share your newest masterpiece!

Happy Quilting ~ Julie
