I just made the very cute little Cowgirl and Cowboy from the “Howdy” panels created by Stacy Hsu for Moda! I don’t know if it’s because I’ve done quite a few of her doll panels, but this one went really fast. I did learn from the first one I made of hers – the Coral Queen of the Sea (Mermaid) doll, that it’s much easier if you cut out the first front piece on the line and then cut the backing kind of loosely. When you put the front to the back, right sides together, it’s easy to match up the lines and pin, and MUCH easier sewing them together. After you’ve sewn them together, leaving a spot for turning, trim so that the seams lay flat and nice for turning. Also with these little cowpokes, I sewed together some charms (1 package) and made a little quilt for my granddaughter – oh it’s SO cute! Can’t hardly wait for Christmas morning…
This is a pretty quick and easy project, and as always at Montana Quilting Company, shipping in the US is free ~ happy sewing!
